When I try to forward an email in Thunderbird, I get a problem. The original text vanishes, to be replaced by a blank attachment. It's not a huge problem, as replies still work fine, and I can "reply" then over-type the address, but it's still a bit of a nuisance. Any ideas?

And in Firefox, the text sometimes vanishes off the right-hand side of the screen. Not much - just a few mm, up to 1cm or so - but again, it's a nuisance.

Both these things first happened after I upgraded to Firefox 2.0. I then went back to 1.5.0.8, but the problems still happened. I've uninstalled and reinstalled them - same thing.

Any ideas?

This is usually caused by broken CSS making invalid assumptions about available fonts, screen resolution etc. Or, slightly more generally, by people trying to misuse HTML+CSS as a full-fledged page description language, rather than a markup language with formatting extensions bolted on.

Does that mean there's not much that can be done about it? It happens to me, too, and I find it rather irritating.

Thanks for that.
