Another random update

We have snow in north Bristol. Not very much yet, but it is snow. We should mostly be able to get home today, but getting in tomorrow - in the busiest week in the year for many of the department - may be tricky.

Cheltenham, I hear, has three inches, and near-total gridlock. This leads me to doubt my "getting home" prediction.

South Africa are 265-2. We're stuffed.

Where is my damn snow?

Let us not speak of cricket. Of course, South Africa could choose to keep batting to make sure they don't lose and then England survive a day and a half but really, what are the chances of that happening?

Oh, thanks for that - I needed cheering up! ;-)

I think your snow got delivered to Sheffield by mistake. We have had perhaps six inches today, which is plenty for everyone!

This morning the BBC were forecasting up to ten inches for parts of Wiltshire.

It has started! And too late, I have ordered some ski kit.

Have you decided what you are doing about your spring Viking this year?

I don't know. The work timing is very bad, so pretty much the only free week I have that coincides with a holiday I want to do is Easter, and to be honest, I am not sure that want to go in April - half the psychological benefit comes from going earlier when the weather here is horrid. So I am currently playing chicken with reservations.

Yes, and they're not bloody joking.

Best of all - o let joy be unconfined - it's coming atop a touch of ice and sleet on the roadways. And let's not forget howling winds, and drifting.

At this rate, I'll be putting up the pigs in the long gallery. Well, the Gloucester Old Spots. The Tamworths can have the Rose Room.
