Cold

Walking into work this morning, it felt like the coldest morning of the autumn / winter so far.

We've still got a light covering of snow on the grass, but it's almost all gone from the pavements and roads.

What's it like with you?

The city is snowbound! For the first time ever, I can't get to work due to snow. The tram company claims that it aims to be running a limited service today, but I haven't heard one out here yet.

Thick snow, side roads and back lanes have to be dug out, all other roads nicely ploughed and gritted.

We're pretty much snowed in at the northern German seaside. No school here today, bus transportation limited, and even if we shovel the driveway to get the car out of the garage, we're not sure what streets will be like. I've decided to survive on what's in the house or to walk to the grocery store if something desperately needs to be purchased.

Just below freezing, but very dry (no frost, let alone snow) and clear blue sky.

We have a light sprinkling of snow. I am considering if anywhere with more is in easy driving distance for a day at the weekend. It's lovely and bright this morning, so it feels cheerful despite the cold.

Exactly as you described.

Had snow come down overnight Sun-Mon, its stayed around and been refreshed a bit since, sky is mixed cloud and blue sky so ...
Lots of snow on the pavement has been packed down and is turning icy.

Temp this morning -0.3C at 8am, risen to 0C by 11am

Very cold. About four to five inches of snow. Main roads gritted and clear, but side roads snow over thick ice. Cars all with an inch or two of ice on all windows and frozen snow on top. I am about to go out and try to clear ours enough to go out and get supplies.

We've got about an inch, with a few flakes coming down every now and again. I have exhausted the possibilities of extra socks and extra jumpers, and have turned the heating on.

Sprinkling of snow.. the river hasn't yet frozen up, which it did last year. And it's snowing now..

Freezing! There's a bitter east wind and our road is still an ice rink!

We've had about 8" of snow now and I've just had to go round and shut all the curtains at 16.20 as it's completely dark out - though the sky looks white which I presume means we're in for more snow :-(

It's not as cold (or as snowy) here as it was up in Carlisle though compared to there, the air felt quite warm when I went out earlier.

Very much like you, though there's ice on some pavements where the snow has not melted completely, and then frozen again.

I think it was colder yesterday, but I have a warm coat so it's difficult to tell.

Cold, but not unusually cold. An inch or so of snow, but icy. I did not want to fall over, so rather than the 15 minute walk, I waited 40 minutes for a bus.

M25 got bad yesterday, and the traffic was pushed off into local roads, so some staff took six hours to get home. They spent the time texting one another, I understand. Also texting other team members not stuck. It all sounds like a bizarre teambuilding exercise.
