The weekend ahead

We have a weekend of bird-watching come up.

I'm going on this, and [livejournal.com profile] adaese is going on this, and we are going here to hear the nightingales, and then we are both going on this!

And best of all, the weather should be fine!

A surprisingly busy weekend

Yesterday involved:
- fresh cinnamon rolls for breakfast
- a trip to Sainsbury's and B&Q (conveniently located next to each other)
- cleaning of kitchen sink (fairly successful), shower heads (ditto), shower drain (don't know yet) and pans (not so successful)
- a walk to and from the library; we saw a kingfisher on the way back!
- finding out that not only can you go on whale watching trips from County Cork, but also (with a moderate amount of luck) see Fin whales while you are on them
- a belated Christmas party at the coffee shop.

And so far, today has involved:
- leftover cinnamon rolls for breakfast
- photographing a rebound 1st / 4th Hobbit, prior to sale
- a trip to the recycling centre
ETA:
- read Tom Shippey on Michael Saler, http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204409004577156860068204638.html
- been on a different walk

Slimbridge

After last Sunday's aborted trip (flat battery in the car), we are again planning to head out to Slimbridge today. Will we see the bittern?
