We saw some interesting old buildings while we were on holiday

This is one of the stops from Deerhurst church, the oldest bits of which date back to 804AD.

Back home!

Seen today:
- one castle (Chepstow)
- one very, very defunct ex-bookshop (also Chepstow)
- a fishmongers van (sea trout and samphire, omnomnom)
- three Challengers and some sort of AVRE (on transporters)
- a mountain of post (on our doorstep).

More from the Forest of Dean

Yesterday, we went to Hay on Wye. We bought books, but we got away remarkably lightly.

Today, we went to Goodrich Castle. Better than I remembered it, and well presented. As the rest of the party went on my recommendation, I was pleased to see that it was much enjoyed.

Then we went to Simmonds Yat Rock. Nice view, nice peregrine (but only in the scope), and nice buzzards (naked eye).

Tomorrow, dunno, but we're cooking dinner for 15.

Holidays

We are going to the Forest of Dean at the end of July. Any hints as to what we should do / where we should go while we’re there?

And we’re going to Dorset and Devon in mid September. Again, any hints for things to do / places to go / where to eat?
