Bloody NHS

I have just (9.15am on Saturday 12 March) received a letter from St Mark's hospital in London, informing me of an appointment.

Hospital update

More starvation diet today - clear fluids until midday.

Got to the hospital, answered their questions, completed the forms, sat around for a while.

They did the scope with gas-and-air only! - no needles. It was darn uncomfortable, but I preferred it to an IV. They removed one polyp, which looked fairly normal.

More sitting around, cup of weak cool sweet tea, then released. Creatrix, the darling, had brought along some biscuits, and I got a Ribena and a Twix from the hospital shop; then home to real tea. Creatrix is now cooking our steaks, and our very own small crop of new potatoes.

Thank you everyone for all your hugs, support &c. You are good people!
