Three good things: the weekend

Three good things for the weekend:
- as you will have gathered, I really enjoyed my flying lesson on Saturday
- we had pot-roast beef, followed by blackberry and apple pie, for dinner
- Alice Roberts seems to be on TV a lot at the moment.

A small airport

bunn wanted a photograph of a small airport. This is the only digital one I have; an eight-seater Britten-Norman Islander at Westray airport, in Orkney. This is the only sort of plane that uses the airport. Note the sophisticated luggage-handling system.

I have booked sleeper tickets south from Inverness. We are aiming to do the whole journey, Bristol - Skye - Harris - Inverness - Bristol surface by public transport (although there may be the odd taxi thrown in, and hire cars on the islands).

What I did in my Easter holidays

I went to Gloucester airport and I got to go inna Vulcan and I saw a Javelin anna Meteor anna Hurricane anna E28 anna microlight and I got to go inna Vulcan again and I hadda cuppatea and a baconroll and then I came home again.

And then after dinner we went out to the pictures and we drove round and round the carpark but everyone had had the same idea so the carpark was full so we came home again and watched Passport to Pimlico on tellie and it was really good.

Appeal to keep Anglo-Saxon gold hoard in West Midlands
