I ticked the first and third options, because it depends on how I feel about where I'm going, how familiar I am with a particular journey, and who my company will be.

Indeed - and I have so many "depends on"s that I ticked four boxes.

It depends for me on length of journey, costs of tickets and crowdedness (or converse) of train. Although given I can't drive I'm talking trains as I assume this is about more than getting around town (shanks' pony).

I was thinking more of long-distance than getting round town - and prompted by my vague feelings of unease about the weekend's travelling. The first half, at least, was fine, although fairly long-winded at 4 and a quarter hours or so door to door.
