Firefox

Every time I go into Firefox, I get this message.

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.apple.com.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

This happens for every site I go into.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox; same result.

Any ideas? (I know you're looking into this, didiusjulianus; I'm not ungrateful or pushing you, I'm just in the mood for sorting out PC things *now*!)

Assuming it works in internet exploder, are you using a proxy? You should be able to check through Tools->Internet Options->Connection->Proxy (I think, am working from memory here). If so, the proxy settings need to be replicated in Edit->Preferences->General->Manual Proxy Configuration (Just stick it in as an http proxy and tick the 'use this proxy for all protocols' will most likely work.)
