Help!

Can anyone:
- advise how to fix a broken HP ipaq PDA?
- recommend a Heathrow hotel?
- help me get two earworms out of my head: One Step Further by Bardo, and Jerusalem (bizarre combination, or what?)
- remind me what the other question was that I wanted to ask ... ?

ETA: Ha, that was it. How can I get Firefox to display more than one tab when opening, each with a different website?

Buy a Palm! (I've loved Palm OS since 2, lusting after a TX)

Have a good day!

I'm being really dense, and missing the "Small World" and "G,R,D" references ... ?

It's a Small World After All - Disney ride. The Ear Worm It Hurts! If you are a Brit who doesn't know it, count yourself lucky.
Grinning Running Ducking - The Getting the H* out of here maneuver. A blogging shorthand (like FTW mentioned below).
It's annoying to type all this stuff out. :-)

Thanks :-)

As for your reminder question I think you wanted to ask if I'd be offended by the gift of a couple of hundred quid :)

Well last time I offered you a fiver, you didn't want it ... ;-)

I doubt you can fix it, but depending on what is wrong, there is just a chance I could. What is te nature of the fault? Broken screen? (If so can't reasonably fix).

I'll drop you an email - thanks.

Don't know how you do that with Firefox, but Opera does it automatically.

Re your ETA: I know it's doable, because I've seen friends whose homepage is actually about 5 different tabs. Nothing obvious in tools -> options, though, so maybe try the Firefox website help section?

Yes, I'll do that - good idea, thanks.

Firefox
Just list the URLs in the home page section on Tools | Options. I think you separate with spaces.

Heathrow hotel
We've stayed in the Radison. However, why not fly from a nicer airport?

Earworms
Why would you want to get Jerusalem out of your head? It always makes my hair stand on end and I go goosebumps all over.

[identity profile] wellinghall.livejournal.com 2008-03-09 10:40 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks for that. We wouldn't normally fly from Heathrow - but trying to match travel arrangements with my nephew is making things tricky.

My Firefox used to do this (I told it to) but it doesn't seem to any more. I haven't bothered to rectify this, as I now use the option of opening the same tabs as in the last session, which is ideal. (You just need to remember, if you have more than one window open, to close down the one you want repeated last!

Thanks for that.

1. Palm Tx is FTW
2. Anti-recommendation - avoid the Thistle - it is in serious need of renovation
3. I agree with [livejournal.com profile] sigisgrim on "Jerusalem" - I would love to have that playing in my head all day. Either that or "Land of Hope and Glory'.
4. In Firefox itself, open "Tools" and click on "Options" then "Main". Under "When Firefox starts" there is an option to open all your windows from your previous session. There doen't seem to be another way to make it open multiple tabs from the base program (typing multiple URLs will give you an error message, no matter how you separate them) but I believe that there are some widgets that will do it for you.

Thanks for that (but "FTW"?)

FTW = 'for the win'. i.e. 'I say, this is really rather good.' ;-)

Ah, I see; thank you.

Sorry, I've been reading Wil Wheaton's blog again. FTW = "for the win", ie very good.

Thanks for that.
