Nooo, not the equestrian high jump - it just makes people push horses that shouldn't be pushed :). We lost too many horses during the last Olympics - it's too high profile so people have to show off. That said, the Olympia power jumping hit 7.3ft this year - much impressive.

/completely random horse-related comment.

Swimming obstacle race? Curious....and what on earth is callisthenics??!

Isn't "callisthenics" the posh, or even American, way of saying keep fit excercises or PE.

No! Keep them out! Except, maybe, tug-of-war, another sport for fat people.

I reckon at least half those on the list would be okay for fat people. And the "standing" events are rather good for people useless at running. Like me.

:)

Not in favour of the pigeon shooting...

We definitely need to re-introduce the Tug-of-War. Why can't fat big-boned people be part of the team?

[identity profile] didiusjulianus.livejournal.com 2006-06-29 09:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not 'big-boned'. I could be the other though.

"Fat is a feminist issue". Or something. (Never quite "got" that somehow).

I say bring back the original Olympic sports (except for the bare-knuckle all-in boxing - I don't like blood!)
