I have a rule about putting washing out: between the beginning of November and around the middle of March, I don't. Why? Not just because it's so likely to rain; I find that the hours of daylight are so short, and it's so seldom 'drying weather' anyway, that washing just doesn't dry enough to make the effort worthwhile. I dry indoors, which is much more efficient!
