4. In the mid-1920s, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Anthony Eden and Alec-Douglas Home find themselves having dinner together in Oxford. Fictional characters who were also in Oxford at the time may be introduced.

Do you think Smiley and Bond would really work in the same story? My feeling is that in any story containing Smiley, it would be hard to show Bond as anything but a cardboard cutout. ...

It's a while since I read any book-Bond, but I still think that it would be hard for him to appear beside Smiley without appearing greatly reduced and rather grubby.
