I'd guess Labour will be really unenthusiastic for an election, because a number of them may lose their jobs at that time. I know they are Teflon coated, but this time some of their evil may stick, come election time, and I doubth they will get a majority. So, my guess is they will hang on for as long as they are able.

EDIT, Assuming that the years time is not just after the election *must* be held!

I think it is just after an election must be held - the last one was, I think, in May 2005.

Yes it was.

I said DC, but my 2nd choice would be someone from another party in a hung parliament, who may or may not be a politician at the moment but probably is. I think this is less likely though, at that point in time.

When I say choice, I am not talking about my personal choice by the way, I mean who I think it will be.

As there was no-one to give me a sticker today which I am very disappointed about, I'll say it here:
* I HAVE VOTED :) *

Well done you!

I confess I haven't, through being too disorganised to arrange a postal vote. [livejournal.com profile] adaese has, though, as she is back home for a couple of days.

I voted Cameron, but I can see it being someone totally unexpected: Cameron has climbed the greasy pole quite ably so far, but greasy poles are treacherous things.

I shall probably furiously disagree with most of the policies of whoever it is, so in that sense it doesn't really matter to me who - but I am pleased that it will be a leader of some other party, just because I think that single party states are intrinsically a bad move, and regular changes of government are a good thing.

Indeed. I think the eighteen consecutive years of Conservative government were A Bad Thing for the country; not so much because it was a Conservative government*, as because for much of that time Britain was a single party state.

*Although I did disagree with many of their policies.
