Can anyone recommend an accessible edition of Gildas? I've just been stung - the book I bought turned out to be about Gildas, not by him.

There are two editions listed on Amazon, one edited by Winterbottom, one by Giles. I think that the Winterbottom one was produced under the auspices of the late John Morris, author of The Age of Arthur, and might be considered unreliable on that score, depending on one's attitude to Morris's work.
