Robert Rankin's Brentford books have been making me laugh out loud lately.

Oh yes they're a very good trilogy in 5 parts!

The earlier Brentford books are good, the later ones get wierder and very in-jokey so you can't really 'get' a lot of the humour if you haven't already encountered his stuff, this also applies to his later books outside thie series.
