Brief update

We spent last night at our new house. Squee!

We have two spare bedrooms that are each full of (a) boxes of books, and (b) dismantled bookcases. If we put the bookcases up, we can fill them with books. But we need to be able to get to the bookcases before we can put them up ...

We have a phone service at the new house. Bizarrely, we still have a phone service at the old house, but we were meant to be taking the number from the old house to the new house ... *is puzzled*.

We don't have our internet connection up at the new house yet, but I can access my LJ at work. Ringing us, or commenting on my LJ (or, for confidential stuff, messaging me through LJ), is the most reliable way of getting in touch if you've got something important to tell us / ask us.

In fact, even if it's trivial, please get in touch! I miss my social interaction ... ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] adaese recently bought the first four volumes of George RR Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire" (having previously read them in manuscript). I have nearly finished "A Game of Thrones", and am enjoying it. Yesterday evening, all four of the books were littering our coffee table, which was quite confusing.

And now, on with the motley work.

That sounds horribly familiar!

Horribly familiar. And sometimes complicated by "and the room really needs redecorating ...."

Congratulations on Sleeping in Your Own Bed in Your Own House day.

Thank you! :-)

The situation is improving; we have now found the bits and pieces we need to put the spare bed together!

Yay! New house habitable!

Yay, Squee and even Woot!

Additional congrats!

Enjoy the book series. I almost envy you the fresh discovery of each new chapter - I haven't enjoyed a series so much since Stephen Donaldson's Gap series (though for very different reasons).

Thank you (on both counts).
