Strange goings-on in Orkney

I am intrigued by the description of it as, "An incident [that] involved males and a dog."

One wonders whether the newspaper is or isn't being deliberately nudge nudge wink wink over that one (though I assume its actually animal cruelty and they avoiding giving details witnesses might embroider).

Quite often there is not much difference between that and the cruelty angle: they abuse the dogs to make them behave aggressively.

Other possibilities would include dog theft (alarmingly common) and illegal hunting.

All options seem pretty unpleasant :-(
