"Evangeline Lilly’s The Hobbit character is unauthentic"
"Lost actress Evangeline Lilly has revealed how her character in the Peter Jackson movie The Hobbit is not an authentic character from the J.R.R. Tolkien books. Evangeline also admitted that the character is very well written and that she hopes fans do not turn against her."

Have been watching The Two Towers tonight and Faramir is so much less heroic and noble than in the book and I think it affects (badly) the theme of what-a-hero--really is that has already developed between Frodo and Boromir.
Though S. Bean as Boromir is *very* watchable ;)

(Anonymous) 2011-10-18 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)Different characters, different story. And I remember the amount of 'respect' these people have shown to the original material in the past, all the awards and amazing visuals not withstanding.
Not sure if that makes me 'sad', but of excessive use of 'artistic license' when reproducing the much loved work of other(far better) artist a fan I am not. :/
