Well, those dates finish before my period starts. But here goes.

1. Julius Caesar invades.
2. Julius Caesar invades again.
3. Claudius invades.
4. Roman legions are recalled.
5. Don't know. The Saxon revolt maybe? Do we really know or is this a guess by somebody?
6. Don't know. Maybe - arrival of St.Augustine - as we are having lots of arrivals?
7. Battle of Maldon.
8. Battle of Stamford Bridge?
9. Battle of Hastings.
10. Oh bugger. Actually, now I think about it, this is my period ("English Chivalry and the French War" paper). Is this the Battle of Crecy maybe?
11. "1348, the year of the Black Death." All those hours playing 'Plague' were not wasted.
12. Bah. I should have paid more attention during that course. Battle of Poitiers perhaps? Unless this is Crecy after all?
13. Battle of Agincourt. Hurrah for lots of battles.
14. Battle of Bosworth.
15. Don't know. Is some kind of Pretender involved? I'm guessing Perkin Warbeck. (Unless it's Lambert Simnel).

Eleven completely right, 5 no, 15 no. I suspect that we don't really know about no 5! Um, twenty-four points.

1. Caesar invades and calls the Britons `Weeny, Weedy, and Weaky'
9. The Norman Conquest (a Good Thing).

(These are only dates on your list that are Memorable - though I could make a case for 123 AD (construction of the Chelmsford Pass By).

And thank you for setting me off to find an e-version of Sellar and Yeatman.
