Fractional - and therefore none of the above :-)

This one seems to offer lots of fun opportunities for bluffing, bribery, tactics and gamesmanship. I voted for 5, and I see that the current result is 5.33. If just one person now voted for 2, the mean would be spot on 5, and I'd win. So come on, people: what bribes will you accept to make you vote for 2?

Too late! I voted 5 too, so that has altered the mean. Mind you it is still only 5.44. So we're still the closest to the integer (pellinor) mean.

Oh come on now this is too much. This is meta-banal as postings go.

There is a psychological phenomenon called "avoidance". I suspect this poll is, in some way, part of this phenomenon.

While I won't hazard even a guess at what the avoided thing is...you need help ;)

I'm too busy to care what the sodding mean is to be honest...in the words (kinda) of someone famous (I forget who), "is it functional, or beautiful? If it's neither, get rid".

Yours truly, didj.

In case it isn't clear, this is to be understood/read in a slightly-sarky but mainly-jokey tone of voice not a mean one.

Hope your 31st Jan was as good a day as mine was :)
