Today, we have acquired:

- ten free bottles of wine (from the shop we bought our new kitchen from)
- two bags of sand (it's complicated)
- a bottle of 10 year old Glenmorangie at a knock-down price, plus beer, peel, cranberries, sugar and a Radio Times
- five more Christmas cards
- and, just now, a delivery of fruit, veg and dairy.

It's beginning to look a bit more like Christmas.

I'm not sure about the details, but there have been reports (some substantiated, others less so) about the Co-ops treatment of their farmers and suppliers, and on ecological issues. They're certainly not perfect, but I think that on the whole they probably do a better job than the other supermarket giants like Tesco, Sainsbury, Asda etc, eg in paying an acceptable amount to the farmer for a pint of milk.
