Very nice. :-)

We saw a heron at Bletchley Park today, but I didn't manage to get a picture of it, sadly.

Thank you :-)

(In compensation, though, you did get to look round Bletchley Park)

This is true :-) - it was very interesting, and a lovely day to wander around the grounds.

I have, sadly, never been; but I do hope to rectify this.

Come and rectify it with us some time soon!

Thank you, Polly!

I love the way their wingtips curve up!

Mm, me too.

Great shots!

I'm very fond of herons: I used to watch one fish in the beck opposite the bus stop every morning while I waited for the bus to school.

Thank you! :-)

Oh, what wonderfully graceful wing movement!

[identity profile] wellinghall.livejournal.com 2016-06-08 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
They are marvellous birds, aren't they.

What lovely pictures. Oddly, although there have been herons nesting at a pond a couple of miles away I have never seen them in flight - only standing around.

[identity profile] wellinghall.livejournal.com 2016-06-08 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I see these herons standing (in the water, on the land by the water, on the fence overlooking the water) more often than I see them flying.
