Al Stewart (who is probably my favourite artist still performing) will be touring the Netherlands and Germany this autumn. He is also planning to tour the UK next spring.

It would depend, to me, on whether you thought you might not be able to get tickets for the UK. But if you had the money and the time to go abroad too, then why not?

Oh, wow! Al Stewart is cool!

Why not go and see him abroad AND here?

We are going to see Iron Maiden both here and Finland, so for you to visit the Netherlands and/or Germany then goto the Spring 2009 tour, if it happens, makes perfect sense to me.

Yes - Hibernia booked Finland before Twickenham was announced, so have three Iron Maiden gigs this year.

Do you feel like trying to meet for a drink after the gig? There will be six of us - all friendly:-) My mobile is 07802 740593.

That would have been nice, but unfortunately we have Bacchus's young niece coming the next day to stay with us & the in-laws are coming too, so we need to get back at a reasonable time, so we're capable of getting up early to finish getting ready for them :-( It wouldn't be so bad when we were still in London, but now we have over a 2 hour journey back home :-(

Otherwise I would have definitely said yes.

I voted for 'go now' partly because I'd make a bit of a trip of it. Not that there is anything wrong with a long weekend in Glasgow, Manchester or Bristol, of course.

I haven't ticked anything, since I would go for Yes or No, as you see fit. But I wouldn't think it was 'silly' to do either. If you have a reason to think he may not tour as planned in the UK next spring, or that you may be unable to go then, it would make sense to go to Germany or the Netherlands. Otherwise, it seems perhaps unnecessary. However, unnecessary doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't go, after all, you can afford it and how you choose to spend your time and money is up to you. After all, you could also see a bit of the place you visited. Depends how interested you are in Germany and the Netherlands, too.

Go for it. If you don't, then you are just asking for some minor but annoying ailment or disaster that will make it difficult or impossible to get to the second one. Whereas, if you go to the first one, Doom will know you are the kind of person who seizes the day, and fall on someone less decisive instead.

Seeing as I have gone to Germany several times (and other countries) on holiday in order to go to a concert (or an autograph session) with favourite artists, and seeing as I enjoyed it very much indeed and don't think it silly at all, my answer should be pretty clear :))

Out of curiosity, would you prefer Germany or the Netherlands?

Wake up, Maggie, and do it.
