This and that

(1) I think that William and Kate should put the wedding out to tender. Venues would be falling over themselves to host it - think of the extra business they'd get! If the happy couple manage it correctly, they could even turn a profit.

(2) I like today's Matt cartoon.

(3) I'm not obsessed by royal weddings, really! So, for your delectation and delight - The ultimate kitten snuggle. Stay with it 'til the reveal.

(4) "This is Battlelore’s first concept album – all the lyrics together tell the story of J.R.R. Tolkien’s tragic hero Túrin Turambar and his kin." How depressing is that?

(5) Come to Loughborough in 2012!

(6) We had a good look at a fox two evenings ago.

(7) A waxwing has made it down to Bristol! I hope it hangs around for a bit (or goes back to get its friends).

It's from a friend of a friend; it's quick, it's easy, and it's interesting.

"Unpopular Science
Whether we like it or not, human life is subject to the universal laws of physics."

Very funny (and you might even learn a bit of physics).

And a fun book-toppling video

The gasman cometh

We are having new central heating fitted this week. (New combi boiler, replace two radiators with heated towel rails, replace two other radiators with new ones).

Next on the list, insulated reflecting panels behind all the radiators.

Then repaint the affected walls.

Goodbye, ginormous gas bills and cold rooms.

Final post for now

Two slightly different takes on the twelve days of Christmas ...

(NB the sound level on the first one is quite high)

I've put the second one under a cut, to save space )

Cartoons and videos

Today's [livejournal.com profile] _dilbert_strip is great.

And, from [livejournal.com profile] knitting_hobbit, there is some impressive skiing here.

(no subject)

I've booked my ticket for the first night of Al Stewart's European tour! I'm going to see him in Zaandam (a suburb of Amsterdam) on 4 October. I'm sailing from Harwich overnight on 3 October, and sailing back overnight on 5 October.

Yay!

And here's a video of him:

Update

Creatrix is away tonight*. MastermindChampion had a hospital visit today, and he needs a competent adult there. Then tomorrow, she's going down to London to meet her mother (let's call her GlassLady), and going to Covent Garden together.

Tonight, gundogs on Crufts :-) Go the flatcoats!

Tomorrow, I might pop over to Woburn. Apart from that, I'll be watching the rugby, and dashing round in the last five minutes before Creatrix gets back trying to tidy up.

I'm also waiting for my sister to ring - we're taking my nephew on holiday in May, and we're trying to co-ordinate travel arrangements.

Oh yes, and I might put a few things up on eBay.

*So please tell me something to cheer me up.

And have a couple of videos, just 'cos I felt like it:
