Yes, there were too many smartly dressed people handing back messy plates and looking for napkins yesterday!

They are on the large side for a single person - we split one between two of us this morning, making an adequate breakfast. They are essentially round, although a perfect circle is by no means essential; rather flat; and somewhat like a very flattened cone, with the base being the widest part.

The top is iced, with a cherry in the centre. The dough contains a few raisins, and one more cherry, just below the one on top. They are backed, then split in half; the bottom half spread liberally with blackcurrant jam, the top half slightly less liberally with whipped cream; and then reassembled.

They're good, but as impressive for their meaning and their symbolism (our church was briefly dedicated to St Agatha) as for their taste.
