The vandal at Skara Brae wasn't exactly the most intelligent chap on the block.

"It was hardly the perfect crime, but when a tourist scrawled his name on a 5,000-year-old ruin on an isolated Scottish island he presumably thought he would evade detection. However, police are confident they will apprehend the vandal today - as he boards the ferry he has booked back to the mainland."

Wouldn't it be kinda bad if he read the article and decided to, say, stay another day and then leave the island under a different name? Or would that be imputing too much intelligence?

Ha ha! He sounds about as intelligent as the American woman I read about in Metro this week who called the police to report the fact that her dealer had not in fact sold her crack, but some imitation instead. She got arrested :-)
