I toook Friday as a holiday, so I could take my dad to Trent Bridge for his birthday. A Good Day - I do like watching cricket :-) If you're at all interested in the sport, you'll already know how the day went from the cricketing point of view - the highlight were probably Vaas and Muralitharan putting on 62 for the last wicket, and the lowlight the pathetic over-rate. We were in the Fox Road stand - good view (given that it was square of the wicket) and reasonable seats. Catering facilities and loos, and parking, left something to be desired, though.

I then spent the night at my parents, and on Saturday went to Doncaster to meet didiusjulianus. We spent an enjoyable few hours at Brodsworth Hall. Then down to London to elanor's flat-warming party, where I met sigisgrim, amalion and sally_maria, and was introduced to the lovely joosetta and various other of elanor's friends. Creatrix eventually turned up, we watched Dr Who, then went home (buying supper from Flaneur on the way). Farringdon station was packed with police - don't know why.

This morning, I've been taking photos of books and things for eBay etc, and catching up on LJ.

Now, I must dash downstairs 'cos the washing machine is beeping at me like a demented thing. Then it will be time to listen to Test Match Special, and read my new proof copy of the latest Pratchett :-)

It was fun, although we didn't stop very long. Explaining police boxes to some of the younger ones there was good :-)

I shelled out for a proof copy of Wintersmith on eBay ... :-)

It's a US paperback proof of "Wintersmith", the third (and possibly last) book in the Tiffany Aching series of children's Discworld books.

So explain 'em to me ;) When did they stop being used?

Methinks you got a little impatient re the Pratchett, lol (but of course your choice and then envy of many no doubt) :)
