What's happened to Mastermind? We were in the middle of a series, when "Junior Mastermind" and "Celebrity Mastemind" came on instead; but now they've finished, and the real thing hasn't come back!

ETA: And what's the theme music the BBC have been using for the "Lark Rise to Candleford" trailers? It's on the tip of my tongue, but just when I'm about to get it, the trailer ends and something else comes on.

Radio Times online says that Mastermind returns on Monday 21 January at 7.30pm. This will be a semi-final, and "Tonight's subjects are British butterflies, the life and work of Franz Kafka, cult TV series 'Edge of Darkness' and Red Clydeside 1914-1939."

I don't know what the music used in the Lark Rise... trailers is either. It's not from the same source as the music used in the programme, and I missed the credit for that last night; the BBC's policy of microreducing credits at inconvenient moments wasn't wholly to blame, but it did contribute.

You can watch it again on BBC iPlayer and repeat the theme music to your heart's content until you 'get' it...well, you can so long as you have a decent broadband connection and can watch video of course ;)

Any BBC programme (at all, seemingly) is available for 7 days after broadcast to watch again at leisure.
