We can now add fox to the list of animals and birds we have had in our garden - not seen, but inferred from droppings.


Birds seen on the ground or the feeders:

I'm told there was a muntjac stuck in the railings between Peterhous and the CU Engineering Dept for a while yesterday. (One learns something new every day - I didn't realise that Peterhouse had a deer park.) We have some muntjacs lurking in the fens near the flying club, too - I once had to clear some deer poo off the runway!

There're are muntjac all over round here. I've stood and watched one on Coldhams Common before. I'd followed it onto the common from Barnwell Road. There are plenty of foxes on Barnwell Road, too, and a stunt fox in the guise of a huge ginger cat.

We can now add to the list of wellinghall's talents-- not seen, but inferred from LJ entries: detecting the presence of animal life by identifiying the droppings.

Oh, yes, there is a rodent I haven't put down - rat! I haven't seen anything else, but no doubt we have had our fair share of small rodents. There's a pond across the road from us, and our next door neighbour (although he's across the drive) has a small pond now, so we may have reptiles / amphibians - we're certainly close enough to water to have had dragonflies in the garden.

ETA: adaese reminds me that we did once find a frog in the garden.
