This is interesting:

(although possibly only for a sufficiently small value of "interesting" ;-) )

I wonder what the peak of 29-year-olds is an artifact of.

I was wondering about that. Maybe the year of birth field defaults to 1980?

Maybe - or perhaps 1980 is for some reason popular among users who are ageing themselves up?

My immediate thought was "Unix epoch" but then I realised I was out by 10 years ^^;

But I remember that before I'd ever posted to my journal, it used to display something saying I hadn't updated it for e.g. 1960 weeks, which, after a non-intuitive unit conversion, turned out to be that.

I'll be off the end of the statistics in a (very) few months. Maybe I should return to 29?

I reckon that if it isn't Segh's suggestion then it is just handy year for old buggers who don't want their exact DOB being available on the internetz
