I really like this poem, despite being a pacifist and a girl and a 21st-C dweller and, oh yes, American. :-) What I mean is that, even though I'm an anomalous American who likes cricket, I shouldn't be able to connect to Sir Henry's imagery all that well, should I? And yet I know I've mentally quoted the "play up" line to myself in a few of life's tougher moments.
