Oh, and I feel an inevitable desire to quibble over the degree of contribution of Logie Baird to television even in cathode ray tube form let alone flat-screen...
(speaking as one whose grandfather at one time worked with Logie Baird, and whose verdict was that he wasn't necessarily all that brilliant an inventor in his own right, though very good at seeing the potential in and building on the ideas of others. I don't know how fair this is though.)
