Antivirus and firewall

Hi folks
I've about given up on Computer Associates' EZ Armor system; they've taken my money twice, but the software still says it is out of date. So -
either, can anyone advise me on a decent replacement? (free for preference, but paid-for if necessary)
or, can someone who knows the CA system better than I do advise me on how to get it working?
Thanks

Date: 2006-04-25 11:39 am (UTC)Software firewalls are annoying things: do you not have a firewall on your router? If you do, personally I'd stick with that and just get an antivirus program.
I tend to recommend Panda or Nod32 (nod32 is what we use here) but I don't know what OS you are on? Both cost money: panda is more userfriendly and has a sexy Jamaican accent, nod32 is tiny weeny weeny, v. effective, and doesn't hog your system resources...
People have recommended AVG free to me as well: I haven't used it, but the price is right!
