Lettuces: eaten by slugs :-(

Blueberries: enough for muffins, even though this is their first year :-)

Date: 2007-07-31 07:39 pm (UTC)I have snails EVERYWHERE...even the resident frogs, toads and thrushes and blackbirds can't cope with them. My petunias have been destroyed, even in the hanging baskets, and even the trough which has two rows of copper tape round it and a 'moat'...
I'm a disheartened gardener this year - the sweet peas I grew from a 50p pack of seeds are like the botanic wonders from Jack and the Beanstalk, except no sun has equalled few flowers. The tiger lillies had two flowers on them. The honeysuckle has flowered when it shouldn't do so until September. The lovely new Dianthus in the front border lost all their leaves due to pesky snails and rain. I haven't had my deckchair out since early June...
