At Glasgow '95, I was an usher for the Hugos, and ushered DL on and off the stage. This felt very odd, as he clearly knew his way around a Hugo ceremony far better than I did.
I am well. Dancing a lot, birding occasionally, reading in between. The terribly stressful waiting around of Saturday last was made almost tolerable by rereading
Roots and Branches
. I'm also working my way through A Reader's Companion, though very little there is new to me.
You may be able to advise me: I'd like to purchase the "corrected" Lord of the Rings but Amazon is sometimes hard to interpret, and I don't want to get what I already own because I've been mislead by a squirrelly date. What do you suggest?
I am mostly keeping up with LJ, although I post elsewhere. My responses to your entries are often so different from your other friends' that I just don't! (I was interested in leap years schemes.*g*) I hope they figure out about your eyes and fix it!*hugs*
OMG!!!! If you haven't read A Fire Upon the Deep you MUST. Absolutely MUST. Be warned though - several people, me included, bounced badly off it at the first try. It took me about three chapters to really get into it. Once "in," though - wow. It is Awesome, in the fullest sense of the word.

I'll come back to you later today on the LotR question.
