Yesterday, we went to Wells. Magnificent cathedral, impressive Bishop's Palace, and stunning Vicars' Close.

Today, we're going down to Cornwall, where we hope to see a few other LJ-ers. We come bearing chocolate, fudge and books!

I like Wells - my grandparents come from Frome so we often visit the place. The cathedral is indeed magnificant and the Bishops Palace is lovely in the autumn. Many times have my grandparents and I sat on the benches by the moat and eaten our lunchtime sandwiches *sigh*

It's a nice town :-)

It's ages since I've been to Wells, but I remember the moat and the cathedral. Some Doctor Who was filmed there last year.

Which episode(s) was that?

But did you see any halls? :-)

*face palm*

You were in Wells, looking at things and I asked you about halls.

Your LJ name is what? :-)

Hands up who else didn't get it.

I didn't get it either. :-)

I'm glad I'm not the only one :-)

Can we exchange books tomorrow?

Assuming you're wellinghall, then yes. (Which books? I'm only bringing "The Mislaid Magician" for you. Have I promised you other things? I tend to make wild promises of lending books, and then forget about them.)

If you're not wellinghall, but are someone who will be located in Outer Mongolia tomorrow, then... no.

Yep, I'm wellinghall. And yes, I was thinking of MM - and we have the previous one for you.

I would normally say, "All the books" - but I know how heavy our suitcases are.

Oh dear. :-( I wasn't trying to be subtle, honest.

*pause* *thinks* *ker-ching*

I know what you're all doing! You're trying to spoil my little bit of humour, by getting me to explain it.

*sulks*

Humph!

Please don't eat all the fudge before I arrive on Saturday. I adore fudge!

We didn't eat any of the fudge before you arrived on Saturday! Aren't we good ;-)

And don't eat all the chocolate or books, either.

I always think I adore fudge, then realise afterwards that I don't, when I go round grimacing, going, "Aaagh! Too sweet!" There was a lovely fudge shop in Wells many many years ago. I think we visited it en masse on one Arthurian pilgrimage.

We did! Not sure if I took any pictures of the fudge shop, though I do have several of that Wells trip.

Can I have your share of the fudge then? :-)

Yep, we did. And I have to admit to having gone there a good handful of times since - in fact, whenever we're near enough to Wells and need to break a journey I try to wangle it that I can go there ;-)

I *really* adore fudge ;-)

(Well, okay, not REALLY really, I mean I don't keep shrines to it or anything, but you know what I'm getting at.)

Fudge, mmm :-) (although we actually got this in Bath, rather than Wells).

How are you all? I've got a couple of pretty good photos of you (in various combinations) from Oxonmoot, including an excellent one of [livejournal.com profile] skordh and [livejournal.com profile] prince_eldarion - I'll email them to you.

Have you seen Hot Fuzz? It's set in Wells and very funny!

No (although I have heard good things of it). We hardly ever go to the cinema - and don't get films out on DVD often, either. Don't really know why.
