More work, and XH558
Mar. 9th, 2006 06:19 pmAnother bad morning at work, although not nearly as bad as yesterday - merely purgatory, I think.
But the main event was a rare afternoon off (but I will probably have to pay for it by going in on Saturday) to see the Avro Vulcan XH558. It's being restored to flying condition, and this was my second of three visits to see it. The current plan is for the first flight to take place (in private) this September / October; then a semi-public flight for supporters; then unleashed onto the airshow circuit in 2007, for 10 - 15 years; then into retirement at Duxford.
Breaking news - they have just been invited to lead a fly-past down the Mall, for the 25th anniversary of the Falklands conflict.
