Don't do what I did. I left chicken stock on the stove overnight and forgot to turn the gas off. In the morning, the stock had boiled dry, the bones had burned, as had the bottom of the pan and there was a strong smell of burnt bones in the house. This, during the course of the next day, attracted a large number of flies which got in through the (broken) extractor vent in the kitchen window. Joy!

Meanwhile, in other news, I've gone back to making bread sans machine, as mine tastes better. So jolly there! I'll have to experiment with recipes for the machine, I think but so far it's not earning its keep!

Yum, I want to come to your house. Now all I need is air fare. :D
I use bread machines for making the dough, then after the first rise, pull it out and make a real loaf of bread (frequently baguette style or braided). No one knows it started in a machine.

Scrolling down my flist I thought at first that you'd posted another poem; but actually it does feel quite poetic ;-)
