Our Christmas So Far

Friday - I was off work ill; Creatrix had the last of her office Christmas parties. Ocado delivered a huge mound of shopping in the evening. Late in the evening, unfortunately, so instead of the planned dinner we had bacon-and-egg pasta; and very nice it was too.
Yesterday - wrote the last cards, sent the last present, wrapped Creatrix's presents. Shopping in the village. Had a nap in the afternoon - still shaking off the cold, but I am getting better. Put up and decorated the trees (a small artificial one in the living room; a tiny real one in the conservatory). Roast guinea fowl for dinner. Made stock. Watched Oliver Twist and TOTP2 Christmas.
Today - uploaded some photos to PhotoBucket; walk and a swim / sauna; delivered cards and presents to the neighbours; made the bed up for MastermindChampion, who will be arriving tomorrow. Pork chops coming for dinner. Can make stock.
Tomorrow / Christmas Eve - to the butchers, to collect our Christmas Day dinner of rib of beef from his prize-winning animal, and a brace of pheasants. MastermindChampion arriving in the afternoon. He may attend Midnight Mass with Creatrix; I would like to, but see no realistic prospect of staying up that long. Before that, a dinner of pheasant; I may roast the breasts, but braise the legs to go with them. Can make stock.
Tuesday - Christmas Day - nuff said, really! But guess what I can make ... ? ;-)
Wednesday / Boxing Day - games, films, walks &c, depending on weather, until MastermindChampion leaves.
Thursday - up to my parents until New Year, to see them, grandparents, and other family. As my sister, brother-in-law, and their boys will also be up, and my parents only have a two-bedroom house, we will actually be staying at the house of a friend of theirs, who is in Australia for Christmas.

Date: 2007-12-23 06:24 pm (UTC)Oh, and in the USofA, Christmas is treated as the End of the X-mas season. Trees are already dying (I've seen them put out by the curb as early as Dec 26th). The whole thing wrapped up and gone.
What ever happened to the 12 Days?
How is Christmas fairing over in England these days?
Me? I'm Jewish, we were done Real Early this year. But still Christmas is the primary excuse to party, so I do follow some of the forms.

Date: 2007-12-24 09:31 am (UTC)Friend of mine keeps trying to convince me I should keep guineafowl. I'm not sure it's worth the hassle though I understand their eggs are quite nice.
