Naomi Novik, "Throne of Jade" and "Black Powder War" - the sequels to "Temeraire" / "His Majesty's Dragon"

JRR Tolkien, "The Fellowship of the Ring"

Oscar Wilde, "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (does anyone know Larry Niven's "The Picture of Daryanree the King", or the Far Side cartoon "The Picture of Dorian Gray and his Dog"))

Terry Pratchett, "Wintersmith" (the third, and possibly last, "Tiffany Aching" novel)

Rowland White, "Vulcan 607", the incredible story of the first Black Buck bombing mission to the Falklands in 1982

I've also been watching "Cold War Jets of the RAF" - while reading "Vulcan 607", which was incrediblyconfusing; and listening to "Past, Present and Future", by Al Stewart

owh - meant to say . . . I'm greatly enjoying DWJ!

Finished Howl's Moving Castle on Friday - really enjoyed it!
Completely different from the animation though, almost an entirely different story.

I'm on Castle in the Air now. I'll let you know what I think of it.

What did you think of the sequels to Temeraire? Someone else on my friends-list was mildy disappointed in them. She still enjoyed them, and I'll read them anyway, of course, but I wondered whether you felt the same way.

Well, I'm only about half-way through Black Powder War ... I am enjoying them, but they don't bring the breath of freshness that Temeraire did - one might almost suspect her of rushing the two sequels out.
