And to redress the balance, things that make [livejournal.com profile] wellinghall happy:

1. Talking to an insurance broker who is able to bring all my details up on the screen, and talk to me knowledgeably about my policy; and when he doesn't have the answer to a question, can talk to a man who does, and then rings me back a few minutes later with the rest of the information.

2. eBay sellers who send things quickly and leave feedback straight away.

The best (and rarest) eBay sellers leave feedback as soon as you pay, without waiting for you to leave it first-- which is only fair, since the buyer takes the first risk by committing his cash.

I've found that a majority of the buyers I've bought from have left feedback after payment - a few seem to want to wait for my feedback, which is wierd - what if I'm unhappy, why should their feedback reflect on me because of a dispute: they've been paid for the goods after all.

It's not fair for them to wait to leave feedback (as most of mine seem to do), but it's not surprising that they do it. They are looking out for Number One-- and it works! I'd say there have been three times when I should have left negative feedback and didn't, in each case because the seller hadn't played his feedback card yet and I could see from glancing at his past dealings that he was a retaliatory feedbacker.
