Be fair - however expensive the dentist is going to be tomorrow, it is not in any way going to leave you anywhere close to actually broke, is it? That sort of casual assertion might feel a bit upsetting to anyone on your flist (not me, I hasten to add!) who has genuine money worries at the moment.
