Apr. 30th, 2008 09:28 amIncredibly stupid comments from BBC Breakfast:
"Clarence House said that the trip [by Prince William to Afghanistan] was a success, but this was largely because it went without a hitch."
Well yes. If there had been hitches, presumably it wouldn't have been so much of a success.
"Essentially all these genetic conditions are connected with flaws in the genes."
No! You don't say!

Date: 2008-04-30 09:24 am (UTC)Somewhat stupidly put though. The second one was very silly, although some non-scientific bods need the connection pointing out (and there are lots of people like that, who didn't do a lot of science at school for example or didn't "get it" at the time). Also there is a bit more to it isn't there? - a flaw in my genes won't *necessarily* mean I actually have a "genetic condition", and some conditions have some genetic basis but also involve environmental factors too. Hence the word "essentially" I presume.
If this is all you have to complain about today, you must be having a good one ;)
