Sherry, white wine... alcohol improves most things.

Ooh, ooh, and mint leaves.

Ice cream. If I haven't already eaten them all on the way home, that is, in which case they are dressed in nothing other than a bit of soil ;)

My preference goes to 'on their own', perhaps with some cream if I am in the mood and have some in, perhaps with sugar if they are a little tart.

Or (largely if someone else happens to have prepped them that way, balsalmic vinegar, possibly with a little black pepper, which is very yummy).

My mother-in-law puts them in normal salad which is nice (although she clearly has too much time on her hands, the way she prepares salads!), and I like them with meringues sometimes, but that's them IN things, not things ON them.

I think I forgot to actually check the nothing box, due to having been on the computer so long today Doing Important Things (tm) that I now can't really see straight.

I'll second the Cointreau - or, oddly, gin. Or one of the honey liqueurs...

(Do we see a theme here?)

Creme fraiche, quark or fromage frais are all good on strawbs. Dipping chocolate too. Oooh, or liquified nutella.

Trader Joe's vanilla yogurt, itself the perfect blend of sweet and tang and thus perfect with strawberries.

Semifredo with little tiny wild ones from Etna (most exotic ever).

Crumble. Strawberries Do Not Freeze well. But eaten hot, in a crumble (for preference with a little rubarb) then they are very nice (not particularly like strawberries, though), and freezing seems to improve this dish.

I have once had them with cucumber as a salad (that someone else prepared), which was quite nice. But I usually go with sugar and cream. Oodles and oodles of double cream! I love the creamy strawberry juice that you are left with once you've eaten the strawberries themselves, and you need to put sugar on the strawberries to bring that out.

Just yum.

Not a big strawberry fan - I prefer raspberries. But if I happen to have some, I will probably poach them lightly with slices of orange and pour Cointreau and cream over the result - an adaptation of Fraises Charles Stuart, since I never have any Drambuie.

Cream and sugar together. For many years I left off the sugar, due to watching my weight, but now I don't care ;)

:-( No ticky box for nothing 'cos I don't like them :-(

Well ok, I'll eat them if I have to, but given the choice I'd go for raspberries rather than strawberries any day, they're so much nicer and I like my raspberries just as they are, or in homemade raspberry jelly.

But sometimes we do put sugar on them and sometimes cream.
