This and that
Sep. 4th, 2008 08:32 amI am now the happy owner of a copy of Leeds University Verse 1914 - 24 :-)
In other news, this is a very clever (and, having just seen him on TV, a very bouncy) doggy.
And having watched the Powell & Pressberger film A Matter of Life and Death yesterday, I was struck by the opening sequence; it rather reminded me of the opening sequence of The Clangers!

Date: 2008-09-05 01:59 am (UTC)Regarding another Tolkien related book, I am astonished that bookfinder.com does not turn up a single copy of Blackwelder's Tolkien Thesaurus. Do you perhaps know why this book, supposedly in print, is unavailable? Any suggestions?
I am deeply disappointed by Walking Tree Press's Tolkien's Shorter Works, largely overextended literary claptrap, in my opinion, but then literary theory has always been incomprehensible to me. On the other hand, the most recent volume of Tolkien Studies is a delight.
I should rather have emailed, shouldn't I?
