I need cheering up

I've had an absolutely knackering week at work - the total hours spent there haven't been too bad, but it has demanded a high level of thought and concentration, and made pretty full use of my skills. I've also had to cope with group head office, investment managers (who seem to think we work for them, rather than the other way round), trainees, accountants (sorry rustica) and our third party admin provider. And worst of all, I've got to go in tomorrow!
Home hasn't been a bundle of laughs either - I soaked my feet, socks and trousers, and cut my finger, trying to unplumb our old dishwasher (Comet will connect the new one, but not disconnect the old one, which seems odd to me); I had a hell of a time trying to wrap up my two swords; and I've still got several more parcels to wrap.
The house is a tip, I'm spending too much money on books, CDs and DVDs, drinking too much caffeine, and taking too little exercise.
OTOH, Creatrix has been taking care of me, and, er ... well, not much else springs to mind at the moment. I'm trying to keep myself going by thinking of Orkney ...
... but if anyone can tell me something to cheer me up a bit, that would help.
Thanks

I've always found that a very good way to cheer myself up is to write something funny. That would make a first-rate first line. :-)

Date: 2006-08-05 04:42 pm (UTC)Many years ago, I bought two old swords, with the vague idea of doing them up and sticking them over the fireplace. But I didn't, and they have hung around in various lofts and wardrobes since then. I have finally got round to selling them - and, this week, wrapping them up, for Creatrix to post.

Date: 2006-08-04 09:41 pm (UTC)Oh and the reverse cowgirl is a very crude(and silly) name for an otherwise pleasant position!

Date: 2006-08-05 04:17 am (UTC)I am also spending too much money on books so if you want to borrow any of mine you are most welcome. I'm afraid they're mainly 20th century fiction, though, and none of them appear to feature the Reverse Cowgirl.
