We have young grouse; haggis; wild duck; and English partridge. Those wishing to join us for dinner should form an orderly queue ;-)

Tigers always get to be at the front of the queue because they're so sleek and beautiful - everyone else wants to be behind the tigers, so that they can admire them. Also, so that they don't wind up as dinner themselves :)

How many tigers will you see with forks and serviettes?

Tatiana says that it wouldn't present her with any problems. Pico would need a very small fork, and would probably use the serviette as a picnic rug, but then he's a very small tiger....

Prepare to be pounced, and quite possibly eaten. Using tigers for Golfimbul is definitely inappropriate behaviour.

I think I'd be first in the queue to get as far away as possible...

I would be envious, but I'm at my parents' house for the weekend, and my mother has spent the day doing a baked gammon, coq au vin, cherry frangipan, and apple pie, and the house is pervaded with the smell!

*is fascinated by British words for food and food customs*

I know that grouse and partridge are birds, but not what kind (other than that grouses can be found on whisky bottles, obviously :). And even if I knew what kind of birds they are, I probably wouldn't know how they taste; the only bird I can remember eating other than chicken is duck. So my curiosity would have me in the queue for sure :)

The red grouse (Latin name lagopus lagopus) is only found in Great Britain, but close relatives are found in Norway, and I believe another grouse, the Ptarmigan, is widely eaten there. I can't really describe how they taste, other than to say that they are very good! :-)
