That's an average, given that I get a new pair of glasses every couple of years.

OK. It's like this:

My right eye is as-near-as-dammit fine. Thus I can, and often do, go about my business without glasses.

I tried contacts when I was younger, but had fearful trouble getting them in and out, and decided that it wasn't worth the bother.

At my last eye test, my prescription had hardly changed. Thus, I haven't had a new pair of glasses since I was in full-time education, and I had a voucher. Then it came out at around thirty quid, IIRC, so I think my average is closer to 0 than 50.

I don't mind this being public, btw.
