Interestingly on Friday TMS chatted with Mark Butcher during the lunch interval and they asked him about Ramps and this whole 'anti-surrey' business. He reckoned Ramps was getting lots of runs, and doing so because he enjoyed batting, but also that maybe he was too old now to play Test-level for England. A dammned shame.
I heard the end of a conversation about him on TMS today, but couldn't gauge the general feeling.
Do I think they'll actually bring him back? No. Is he a long-term solution to England's batting difficulties? No. Could he help England win the next test? Emphatically yes.
